edited June 2010 in Your mountain bikes
EDIT: OK, bought some new grips, a new saddle and rerouted the rear brake hose.

But........I need some help to decide whether or not to sticker the frame, and if so, how much and where?

I'm really in two minds whether to do it or not. Any opinions?

Woohoo, just picked up my newest bike today!

It's a hardtail hooligan for when my legs are too tired for the Bullit. :)

Massive thanks to Mike, Mark and James at Big Bear Bikes in Pickering for a bloody brilliant build and being so patient!

They are essentially the 2010 version of the 5.1d.

I've run 5.1d's on FR bikes before without any trouble so I'm hoping they hold up just as well on the Ragley.

However, I think that the EX500 has a proper welded joint, as opposed to the pinned joints on the 5.1d. Which means it's better set up for tubeless.

I'm running tubeless at the moment so time will tell...........

Out of interest Yoohoo, how come the frame dosen't have the usual stickers / Ragley branding on it, do they come with the frame as an option to put them on? Thinking about building a frame up, Ragley certainly looks like a possibility, what made you choose the Alu over Steel?

You get a full sticker pack with the frame, but i quite like the clean lines at the moment so leaving them off for now.

Main reason I went for the alu is because of weight, this was never going to be particularly light build because of the kit i put on it, so wanted to still try to keep it down wherever possible.

aslo, i'm not a massive fan of the gas pipe look.

does look great and i think you're right to keep the stickers off it. but i hated the ride when i demo'd it. it was the sensible lightweight option too.

updated the photos on the first page since I bought some new grips because they had matching blue collars 8)

also bought a Charge Spoon Titanium, again because it was white with a little bit of blue.

Rerouted the rear brake cable and it's much tidier now.

HOWEVER......I'm completely stumped as to whether to put any stickers on it?! Tart opinions required!!!

    :D

No stickers. Looks really nice without.

When the 456 gets re-sprayed, it's going naked!

If you really want to put stickers on it, something like the smallish MmmBop sticker, near to where the top-tube joins the seat-tube might look ok.

Take some pics of the sticker pack you got with it, along with something we can use for size comparison, then we can see what options you've got

Where did you get the headset from?

The oversize headtube is the only thing that is putting me off getting this frame. I reaaly dont want to pay the earth for a headset.

Looks amazing by the way. Definitely thing a MmmBop sticker should be put on though. Maybe even a Ragley sticker.

Ragley sticker vertically on head tube, small mmmBop sticker at the bottom of the downtube
