Anyone been following this? I was at the Durham crit last night.

Really technical course; a tricky descent, followed by an even trickier corner, followed by a brutal cobbled climb which produced plenty of grimaces. Plenty of drama (crashes/mechanicals etc) but it became difficult to follow after a while as the bunch completely split and riders were being lapped. After the first couple of groups I've got no idea how (or even if) they sorted out the placings....

Anyway, it's on ITV4 tonight, 7pm.

i was there, my house is on the 90-degree turn from the downhill into the cobbles. I absolutely loved it. Hope the one rider who took a worse fall than the others is okay. (think it was a kuota rider).

According to road.cc he broke his shoulder. I saw him in the ambulance car at the end.

Popped over to the Canary Wharf one after work.

It was busy at the start, as you'd expect with all the people leaving work, but the crowd dwindled considerably over time. I believe it was half an hour late in starting as well which won't have helped keep the crowd. I stayed for about half an hour of racing but I had ridden over and it was getting a bit chilly just standing around and I was just in my cycling gear without a jacket or anything.

Overall it was pretty good, but very much a sprinters round. Watching the Durham one now and the circuit looks much more interesting.
