i had noticed that my rear brake was very spongy and was just lacking any real stopping power. the pistons are both ok (previous problem) so just started to bleed the brake. bit of air came out but nothing major however now when i pull the brake nothing is happening!! there is no resistance to the lever and when i open the bleed point there isnt any oil coming out!!

any ideas on this? please tell me that i have done something stupid here? the resevoir is topped up and the bleed point is tightened but the brake does nothing!

sounds like lots of air in there.

i thought that if there was alot of air in there, there would still be some resistance in the lever. if there is that much air in there what is the best way of getting it out? seeing as when the bleed point is open nothing happens. would it be wise to remove the brake block and lever to try and move the air?

Lots of air = no resistance - air compresses.
That's what bleeding is for - to get it out.
