bottom bracket no 2

I have a 2009 cannondale badboy 700 and I am getting a horrible graunching noise from the bottom bracket.
I assume it is not servicable and needs replacing.
Does anyone know how to tell what type it is so I can get a replacement and the correct tools please?
According to the evans website the bottom bracket is sram cartridge, but that doesn't mean much to me.

    Take your bike to a shop - tell and show them what you want to do and they should have the tools to sell you. If they aren't helpful go elsewhere.

    If they can't tell there and then what bottom bracket you need get the old one out and take it to the shop.
    Another option is email Cannondale customer services and ask them what the part is for your particular bike.
    I can't vouch for Cannondale but Giant have always answered my queries within a day.
