Saw a picture of Graeme Obree doing fixed cyclo cross, just wondered who here's tried it and what it's like?

I have, it's a touch mad... I wasn't racing but more for fun. Great for control though, plus you can do brilliant drifted turns.0

How do you get over parts where with a freewheel you hold the pedals horizontal? I suppose fixed means a lot more dismounting!
I know in America they have fixed-only cx races.Bikes, saddles and stuff

I did it years ago. I had a one-off Ti SS CX frame from On-One, which I built up with a fixed/free hub. It was strange but something you quickly adapt to.
Sold the bike to someone on here by the name of davej I think. Wish I'd kept it now as it had some trick parts on it...0
