New bike - cable ties to tidy up brake cables?

Took delivery of a Giant Boulder from Wiggle yesterday. Had a quick blast this morning to get a feel for it, but one thing has struck me while sitting at work. Should I cable-tie the loose brake cables to the frame? I vaguely recall thinking "they look a bit flappy" as I merrily pedalled along a bridlepath this morning. Now I'm thinking they're likely to get snagged on something. Is this the right/best thing to do?

Never had a problem myself but there shouldn't be any problem so long as it doesn't restrict your steering control0

Hadn't considered the steering aspect. Perhaps they just look really shiny.
But if I get wrapped round a tree, I'm blaming you.0 -
Somehow I think the hoses/cables will be ripped out instead of them swinging you around
Although without brake hoses you have no brakes0 -
I'll be honest, I don't really need brakes.* 8)
