Has anyone else had any problems with emails from Pro Bike Kit. when you return stuff to them you have to you log onto their website, explain why you want to return to them and they then forward you an email with a pdf file with instructions. Trouble is I can't download or open the pdf from my hotmail account. Am I missing something really obvious?

I just (today) went through the same process with a Yahoo account with PBK and it worked fine, so yes you probably are missing something obvious

its a bit of long winded process if you dont fill in the correct answer on the website, where its asking for a return reason, but once they send you the form with a returns number on its easy.

try saving it rather than opening it

I can't even download the file, but it's something stupid, I'm sure I've got round this problem before...
  • What browser are you using? I find that google chrome more often then not won't open PDF files.

I think the latest version of Adobe Reader is incompatible with Chrome, I uninstalled and went back to version 8, I just ignore the periodic upgrade nags.

Err, Windows Internet Explorer? Not really a techy person, hence asking for help. It's not really a huge problem, I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago, but wrote PBK a letter instead, got a refund, no problems. Just a bit annoying...

FWIW, if you're returning the goods within 7 working days, exercising your right to cancel the order under the distance selling regulations, then I don't think they can insist on that pre-notification requirement. But I think under their terms and conditions they in fact accept returns within 30 days, so if you're returning them within that longer contractual period, then they can insist.

Try firing up Adobe Reader externally (i.e. not from within IE) first. It's sometimes a bit slow to start and it helps to get the code cached.

OK, thanks for all the suggestions. I've written then a small note and just popped it in the post, shouldn't be a problem, PBK are pretty good. Suppose I sort of blame Wiggle :D
