    it may well be a matter of preference but i would choose event over goretex any day, if i could afford event fabric prices of course, which i cant.

    i have 2 pairs of goretex boots, which are fine, but i have a pair of event ones which are superb.

    as far as goretex jackets go, i cant really tell the difference between gtex and either hyvent or aquafoil which are supossed to be considerably worse performing.
