Second bike choices....

I've been given permission to buy a second bike!!
I have been riding a Tricross sport as a commuter bike for a couple of years and absolutely love it but have started doing sportives and longer rides. I think what I'd really like is a lighter, faster version of my Tricross.
Is this the Roubaix? What else should I be trying?
Budget is around £2 500.
