Between 7:30am and 6:30pm on Tuesday 8th June, Police will be running a Pedal Cycle Security event on the Bristol to Bath Railway Cycle Path at Newtown Park, Lawrence Hill.

There will be opportunity to ask questions about cycle security and gain specialist advice. Police will also be fitting FREE immobitags for those who bring their bikes (Normal RRP £13.99).

Staff from Evans Cycles will also be in attendance to provide help and advice on all matters cycling related and will be offering a free “cycle surgery” for minor tune ups.

Cheers for the heads up. Newtown Park I presume is the start/finish of the cyclepath?

What happens if you have two bikes? One fitted and another given for bike 2?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Yep. You'll have to bring the bike for the tag to be fitted. I know it's a pain, but it avoids people taking a load and selling them on ebay etc.

No. I'm glad to say we stopped doing that in Avon and Somerset many years ago. Postcode stamping and carbon fibre don't mix!!

Yes. At the Bristol end of the path.

slightly off topic, I was in Carlisle yesterday, sitting outside the shops while the wife and daughter were spending me dosh. Two blokes walked past with bikes, they leant them on a wall ( no locks ), went into the tourist office for about ten min. Bikes were out of sight to both of them. Bikes were fully laden, panniers etc. One was a Litespeed, the other a Kestrel. Why on earth would anyone do that ? The daft gets derserved to have then nicked

Been there and back and now have both bike chipped up. Thanks to those in the background for funding this and Frank for being the public face and bringing it to our attention.
