Rusty Forks

I've recently noticed surface rust on the tops of my Rockshox Tora forks - the chromey tube bits. It manifests as rust bubbles on the upper inside (facing rear) of the tubes. The bike is well less than a year old and always lives indoors and hasn't really been used that much as in once/tice a month though I'm not bashful about rain/snow/mud.
Is this something that I should just generally expect of forks or is this a warranty type issue? Its not something I would have expected on any of my motorbikes I've had over the years unless very old and abused.

Rockshox Tora I take it.
I have had zero problems with mine, including some that are 3 years old. Usage prevents it, but you may have had a dodgy pair.
Do you lube the stanchion area and seals? It can leave a very thin protective film on.0 -
I've never lubed them, never needed to on a motorbike, so didn't think to do so here.

Thank you, will take it round to the LBS where I got it from.
Begs the question of whether or not to use it as an upgrade route...1997 Gary Fisher Big Sur
