How often do you PROPERLY clean your drive train?

It's such a pain cleaning the sprockets and jockey wheels properly, i.e. with the wheel off, degreasing and brushing followed by the bit-of-cloth-between-each-sprocket routine... especially with 11 cogs!

How often do you bother?

I'm lucky if I manage once a fortnight.... Although it does look brilliant when it's just been done.

I know it looks nice but it is probably more to satisfy ocd impulses than offering any mechanical value. I've never done it and in more than 15 years of cycling I can't say I have worn out many drivetrain components, and all my bikes run very sweetly.

Oh, and why presume I would give them a quick wipe on the annual chain cleaning??? :?

Just use Prolink and wipe down chain after every ride. Keeps things super clean!

Clean chain or wipe down after every ride. No visible crud on drivetrain at all otherwise I would have to call the bike a commuter.
