South of Grenoble - Vercors and Trieves Video Diary

Hi all,
I wanted to share yesterday's video diary as it was the first decent weekend in May and first long ride of the year for me.
The tour was one I'd ridden a few years ago and I was keen to ride again and to film. The principal climbs were south of Grenoble on the south-eastern side of the Vercors, with the 1,402m Col de Menee and the 1,318m Col de Grimone before riding back through the Trieves region. In all, 151 kilometres with over 3,000m of climb and nine mountain passes - some weren't too big.

None of the climbs are too steep and although it's a little way away from the famous climbs of the Alps, it's a very pretty tour. The Trieves are a fabulous place to ride a bike as there is nobody there.
The first test for my Garmin 305 GPS watch. Really like the data during and afterwards, but can see it found it difficult to cope with the longer tunnels. My max speed shot up to over 300 mph after the tunnel at the Col de Menee. I'm sure I didn't get anywhere near that.
Cheers, Russell
