Decent Backpack for commuting (mainly)

Hi

can anyone recommend a good rucksack for commuting? I also cycle to the supermarket for the weekly shop so it needs to be a good size and comfortable. not too bothered about it being hydration system compatible, bottles do well enough for me!
and does anyne know if you can get a decent (but relavitely cheap) waterproof cover so it doesnt get soaked or covered in mud on the rainier of commutes!
