I am looking to spend £800 or so on a hybrid and was looking for something that is light, handle responsively and be discrete. I currently use a dawes discovery 501 but vandals keep attacking it and I want something that is going to be more discrete and be sort of like an uprade. I was looking at two main ones:
Claud Butler Urban 600 '09 -£500 in a local shop already fitted with mudguards, anti theft skewers and an axa lock,
Boardman Hybrid Comp - £699 Yes I know its a Halfords bike but when I took it out it seemed to handle well and I love the juicies.
Basically what I am looking for is something with disc brakes (I know they aren't neassacary but after having them for about a year I don't want to go back and something of deore lx / slx or X7 and above. Any segestions would be much appriciated. Thanks in advance. I would be traveling about 8 miles each way also.

Ask in the main commuting forum, where you should get a decent response. This forum is really for maintenance/mechanical queries.0
