Would be required on a mavic x717 disc rim, with a hope pro 2 front hub. I have my eye on some sapim cx ray spokes and plan on rebuilding my tacoed wheel.

Thanks.

You can get the dimensions you need from Hope and Mavic - then simply input into a spoke calculator..

Should take a couple of mins.

Well im on the hope site, no dice, funny enough it was a hope wheelset that got busted, perhaps i can fire them an email and see how they can help?

Im assuming 32 spokes is the standard for a 26" rim?

Well i have a bit of software, it's giving me different lengths for each side, anyway i've fired hope an email to see if they can help with a warranty claim, perhaps for an xc717 as funny enough they stopped the 4.2d option, guess it gave them too many problems.

I have a spare spoke somewhere so i could always buy a spoke measurement tool.

If you go on the WheelPro site, and click on 'Hubs' at the top, it will list the Pro 2, click on that and it will automatically enter the flange dimensions etc.

    http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/spokecalc/

And if you've got the 32h XC717 rim, the ERD is 538.5 mm (that is from: http://www.starbike.com/php/product_inf ... n&pid=1577 )

At the 'Rim dia' bit, put in 538.5 mm without the mm. That should do it.

    This is what i'm getting:

Left - Disc Side. For 3x pattern, 259.1mm

    and

    Right - Drive side. For 3x, 260.9mm.

That should be right, but you may want someone else to confirm.

    Bad wheel data

Please enter a numeric rim diameter or select a rim from the rims table .

How odd, nope not a sausage for me.

Thanks for sorting it, i'll see what hope say tomorrow just to confirm it, should be great building my first wheel. :D

You have the hub diameters entered right? Enter this:

    A. Left - 56
    B. Right - 54

    Flange distance

    C. Left - 19.5
    D. Right - 34

    Rim dia - 538.5

don't do your first build with cx-rays, there is a bit of a knack to building with aero spokes.

Just use some sapim or dt double butted spokes.

read Sheldons pages. and then buy the Wheel pro book on wheel building.

and there is no "standard" number of spokes for any wheel build.

TBH if this is going to be your first build. go buy a cheap wheel strip it and rebuild it.
