Im just about to bite the bullet and purchase one of the Planet X nanolight's . Ive tried to read up as much as I can on reviews etc but still cant work out which groupset to go for red / rival etc. Im also concerned about the wheel choice noting that alot of riders use the model B's as there regular wheels. Would I be better going for a lower groupset and upgrading the wheels or just buy the more expensive bike.
Any thoughts please

i havent use red or force but rival is very good. said to be at least at ultegra level.a lot of people say force is just as good as red for less money. model b and rival would be a very nice bike i thnk.0

I have Red and love it - but then I've not used Rival so cannot compare.
Not sure that rival allows you to 'trim' the front gears which is handy though0 -
are you buying the bike for commuting or racing/weekends rides ?
If you're not commuting, then get the red groupset. It's not that much more and you might regret not doing it afterwards. If you're commuting, then the Red components will cost you more to replace so bear that in mind.
Model B's are great wheels, I commute/race on them with no issues.0 -
Personally I'd go for the lower groupset and invest in some race wheels.Racing for Fluid Fin Race Team in 2012 - www.fluidfin.co.uk0

Make sure you read the fine-print. The bike's don't come with the full groupset. PX word it carefully when they say 'SRAM Red Components' rather than 'SRAM Red Groupset'. One big omission is the chainset - with both bikes coming with an FSA Energy Chainset.
Still a good deal - but caveat emptor.0 -
Why not get the SL with nanolight bits on like I did?0

please excuse my ignorance but how did the deal price add up and whats the main difference in frames?. Im using the bike for fitness and hopefully racing in the future and as PX have a good name thought it was the best way to go. The other good news is our cycle to work scheme accepts PX0 -
