KMC chain installation question

I'm installing my first ever chain after buying a KMC X9-L.
Got the old one off without an issue, but struggling to join the new one. I thought this chain would come with a missing link, but there wasn't one separate in the box and I can't identify one in the linear chain already....
Do you have to buy the missing link separately? Pretty annoying if so....hopefully I'm just being a bit dim :?
Thanks!

Hope it wasn't an eBay acquisition, they come with the quick link in a little bag.
Not dropped it on the workshop floor, have you?
If you find it, it is very easy to fit. If you don't, you could shorten the chain if you have a chain tool available.
And if you don't need the extra length. :oops:0 -
No, purchased from CRC. It did come with instructions for using a missing link in a little bag, but no link...
The good news was that I had a couple lying around for use in an emergency, so I used one of those
Many thanks for the help!0
