What do we reckon... will the 55's actually be any good this year?
I hope so... the prices are pretty competetive! cheapest 160mm forks by far!

i was gonn get some but i decided to get some 44 RLO instead0
-
Still gonna struggle to compete with RS and Fox in pure performance and Manitou and Suntour in price/performance.0
-
I've got some 55s I'll sell you for the price of a beer0

There is only one way to find out.
And considering they are the basic, the only thing that can go wrong is the rebound.0 -
I know that the 09 22s haven't been too bad, but what do I know its the only fork I have ridden besides the cheap 60mm Suntour one that is on the bike I had growing up.
But Marzzochi better do something good this year to keep up with RS and Fox, who both made some substantial changes to their line ups with some good additions and changes.'09 Rocky Mountain Fusion0 -
BUT...
With a RRP of £350 for the RV with compression and rebound adjustment... thats pretty good imo!
Same weight as Domain 318's too which RRP @ £550!0 -
Zochi have had a bad rep for the last few years, but they still make good forks! my old 44 was great when i got it set up right, the factory oil levels were a pile of crap.
this year with the new slotted bushings, elastomer bottom out dampers, and ti springs with the return of open bath (rc3 ) in more than just 888 and 66's measn they should be absolute crakers! and they have been light and stiff for a few years now. hopefully they have mated that to the performance they were once assosiated with!
oh, and the 888 ti rc3 world cup is very much the DH race fork of the moment. top bit of kit.
i would love to try the 44 ti rc4. recon it should be a belter!I like bikes and stuff0 -

But then some of the Lyriks have been pretty unreliable. I thought the updated 09 Bombers were supposed to be pretty good?Uncompromising extremist0

The 55RV doesn't have a compression.
It has just rebound, and it's sort of like the Domain 302.
The RC3 has the High/ Low speed compression.
What is interesting is that the none of the 55's from 2010 doesn't have adjustable travel.
yeehaamcgee, I have just more faith in simpler systems.
But if bigbenj_08 was asking about the 55RC3, the story would be different,
for £500+ the stakes are higher and there is more to go wrong.0 -
The RV has rebound and hard/soft coil preload adjusters.... which is more than enough for £350!
So its sort of sat between the 305 and 318 domain.0 -

I won't buy Marzocchi forks again, really wasn't impressed with their almost total lack of technical documentation.0
