Hi I am looking to upgrade the non descript wheels I currently have on my road bike, these wheels were inherited from a carrera vanquish that I have rebuilt and upgraded over the last year in fact the wheels are some of the only original bits left !!
I have about £150 to spend not a great deal but then I am not after the latest carbon exotica. Been looking at pro lites , fulcrums and mavic all of them being there lower models in that price range . Any comments on what would be best or any other suggestions ? I guess I would like as lite as possible within that price without spokes snapping on the first ride !!! Thanks neil

I would recommend the Mavics, have got the Planet X Bs on one of my bikes at the cassette is now eaten in to the freeehub, so gonna bin them when the chain wears. I have some mavic kyseriums on my summer bike and they are very good, and have had them along time. Gonna replace the Planet X Bs with aksiums as, like you, I don't have much money to upgrade them with.
I've heard this (freehub made of cheese) from a few people. But this is just my experience, it may be that others have had a better time with the PXs,0 -

thanks for that on looking at the cost i will go for the planet X's i am using a 9 speed cassette so hopefully will have no probs they appear to be a good combination of price/quality/weight.0
