Hi,

Just joined up the other week after a couple of years away from bikes and thought I may as well post up a few pics of my bike. Its a 2007 Specialized FRS XC comp,my previous bike was a giant xtc so this is my first proper bike if you like.

I bought it second hand and it has a few little jobs needing sorted out.The middle chain ring is a touch worn so will either sort that out or might upgrade the whole crank and ring setup dependant on how money goes.I replaced the jockey wheels on the rear mech earlier tonight as the lower one was a bit worn and also put on a set of DMR V8 pedals to replace the shimano spd pedals it came with.

No ground breaking plans for it to be honest but I figure its a decent enough frame to upgrade things as they break/wear out.Although i do have a fancy for a set of hope brakes that im trying to ignore but will most likely fail miserably and give in straight away!

Heres a couple of pics

    What size is the frame?
    How you finding the ride?

I bought the same bike in 2007 and have just finished a big upgrade - link in signature.

    Hi
Had a look at your upgraded fsr, very nice.
Notice you put a Fox RP2 on with a 50mm stroke.
    Did this work okay?
    Cheers

    Hi,

The slightly longer rear shock works fine and it's much better than the X Fusion shock.

    HI
    Thanks for that.

Did you have to get new bushes and which ones did you get, specific fo the Fox shock?

    Cheers

I dropped the bike into my local Specialized Concept store who fitted the bushes for me.

    Hi,sorry just notice your reply.

Its a large frame and it seems ok so far bar the rear shock isnt great but ive only been out a half dozen or so times on it.I had a read through your topic and looks like a lot of nice kit on there, will be changing the shock on mine as the standard one isnt in the best of health along with a couple of other bits as and when I wear the standard ones out.

    Cheers Ross.
