I'm from Warrington, not really found much interesting round here... Too fecking flat! I do a lot of my riding in the Dark Peak, Rivi is a part, but IMO there is better that there to be found. Classic Ladybower route, Jacobs Ladder route and plenty more!

Haigh Hall used to be pretty good for playing around in... Worth a nose as long as you don't mind dodging chavs.

Haigh Hall at weekends is hard work it gets very busy with families, dog walkers, chavs ect.
Someone also has a habit of dragging logs and branches across the trails, used to be good fun trying to jump/bunyhop them but lately they are getting very technical.

I have fond memories of the drop offs by the cottage where the entrance is by Higher Lane.

Someone felled a log on to that... and within days saw marks started appearing. Didn't go back there much after that.

Any riding to be had on Ashurst Beacon? I remember the bike club i was in put something together around there once.
Couldn't remember the route if I tried now and I seem to recall quite a bit of road being involved.

I live in sutton and theres a good ride around the old collieries - Bold and Sutton (Dream) and through Sutton Manor. About 12 miles in total. On the old Bold colliery site there are some good trails and the run up to Dream is a good one for stretching the legs. Google Earth is a good startin point for routes.

Easy ride from where you are or if you are feeling lazy you can get the train and start from St Helens Junction station.

If you fancy the run above, drop me a note. Happy to give you the tour!
