got the R can't really see the point in the extra cost for carbon levers unless ur a weight weenie. Best breaks ive ever owned.

I'm tempted by the Elixir 5 or Rs to replace my Juicy 3's, they currently don't fill me with much confidence on descents.

just gor the R's, as said all that money for a bit of carbon and a few grams saved. Just take out ya bottle cage bolts weight saved. But if you want the carbon, then you could always upgrade the lever blade later. I have the R's and not had any probs what so ever

I thought the CRs had that adjustable pad thing on the levers?

ok, be serious. there are 4 differences, you have to think if it is worth the money.

    1) few grams lighter due to the carbon blade, NOT the brake set itself
(imo, if you get the R then change the carbon lever would have the same weight)

    2) the adjustable braided, for bite point adjustment
(imo, not really that useful , But better than nothing)

    3) rotatable banjo, neater hose-lining, to some experts, they claim its more durable, and more efficent braking power...
(imo, surely neater on the hose lining, i cant tell the rest...)

    4) the look of it.... its very personal.
(i just love the CR.... the R looks plasticky and toy'ish)
