Driving to the Tourmalet - Any advice

Hey people, me and my buddy are driving to the Tourmalet for this years tour. We're planning on getting their 2 to 3 days before the race arrives. Any advice from anyone greatly appreciated.

Access to the mountain? camping? camping on the mountain? Parking? etc etc...

Any advice most welcome
