Hi. Its many years since I bought a bike but after the theft of my old hack mountain bike I've decided to get a new road bike on the Cyclescheme. I'd like to buy British and fairly traditional looking (round tubes, traditional geometry, maybe steel), a lot of the machines I've seem to be single speed however, or very expensive. I'm after something around the £500-£600 mark and suitable for commuting, touring and general use. My commute is 5 miles on road and then 1 mile on a cinder surfaced cycle.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
thanks. Dave :)

Since most new bikes less than a £1000 are made in the Far East then that's going to be a problem with your budget.

I like the look of the Charge Juicer but I can't justify spending that much!
Looking for something along those lines though...so it might have to be foreign.
