looking for certain SPD shoes

I have read many magazine reviews from MBR & the likes of Cycling Active. Most seem to favor the dhb T1 as a good budget shoe.
However none of the reviewers take into consideration people with wide fitting feet. I bought the Shimano MT32 Mountain Trail Shoe from an online retailer, and they went back the day after i received them.
has anyone else had a similar problem.
And any recommendations
