Just wondering how many people have had their bike custome fitted to them selves?
And is it worth the money?

I'm looking for a good place around the Sussex area??

Has anyone on here used MSG cycles in lancing ??
If so is he any good?

Loads of threads on this previously. IMO not worth the money as it is just a guideline. It doesn't take into account different frame geometries, personal comfort, previous injuries and lots of other variables......

strange just had it done. and the fitting software took into account pedal and shoe type, and frame geometries and i had the bike on a turbo.

Most bike fittings take place on a jig that doesn't compensate for different manufacturers. If you were on a turbo trainer or rollers this changes things completely. Personally I go by trial and error...... I change my bike set up a tiny amount until it just feels right. For instance I moved my saddle forward 5mm and up 3mm recently and the bike feels so much better since, I now just want to drop the bars by swapping the 5mm spacer I have top above the stem

Really? Not true either really - pretty much every variable I think is taken into account. I was fitted as part of the buying process (for no charge). An initial fitting on a rough fit bike determined what geometries would fit (not a great choice there as I am non standard shape) - that led to a choice of three manufacturers of which I tested two. The process identified the best choice of handlebars both in terms of width and reach, crank length and seat and stem heights etc.

I was then able to test ride the two bikes which were built up as closely as possible to what I needed so that I could feel what they were like over about 45 miles of road riding - deliberately harsh choices of wheel, seat post etc were used to make the ride as hard as possible to make up for the relatively short distance ridden.

That was then followed by a cleat fitting which was possibly of marginal benefit but I got that as a freebie as they were testing a new system.

Obviously, this was all part of a buying process but I think I'd have happily paid good money for it otherwise - now I know pretty much what works. Far better value than any new piece of bike bling.
