It's been a while...sporting TT?

Well, I'm going to give a local TT a bash tonight. It's been 12 years since I last did a time trial and back then I was a junior! I hope I haven't got slower.

It's a 'sporting' TT and just wondered if anyone had some advice of whether it's worth using tri-bars for. I'm assuming for 'sporting' they mean 'hilly'?

Bit late but it would definitely have been worth using tri bars - sporting usually means small lanes, maybe undulating and some technical corners - I reckon it's worth using tri bars for hilly courses too.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

If you have them it is worth using all your aero aids on all TT's. The only exception would be the autumn hill climbs when you want to strip as much off the bike as possible.

We have two Mountain time Trials in the north east which are longer and much hillier than a standard hilly, and I now use the full TT bike for these events.

    Hi

Do your first without tri-bars - then when you get a set you should see an easy improvement
