After doing 50 miles on a slicked mtb in 3hrs 20 I think I need to get back into road riding but which of these three would you rather be seen on? A Trek 2.0, Specialized Secteur Elite or a Planet X Rival build. You already know I'm going for a sub 1k job. I've tried all but the Px and prefer the Trek so far.
Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

Who are you calling inbred?

...the one I liked the most!

All good bikes AFAIK (haven't tried the PX either) but there are lots of others out there. Shop around, take a few out for a spin and buy the one you like that suits what you have in mind, e.g., the Secteur is not a good choice for racing but great for all day comfort.

Oh, standby for a deluge of CAAD9's nominations :)

...you liked the trek...buy that...assuming it is correct size etc....
I am only fairly new to the road bike scene but most experienced posters here seem to say try it..like it..buy it..never look back...

let us know how it goes

The Planet X Rival build is amazing value for the cash, the Boardman is a pretty good deal too. I wouldn't buy an aluminium alloy framed bike unless it was a Principia.

I have a P-X with Rival and love it (7.15kg full bike weight), I also have a £4k Trek Madone with SRAM Red, there is a difference between the two, but not £3k's worth......
