Yes yes, i have swapped another frame! I'd originally ordered the gritstone colour, but after seeing it, wasn't overly keen, plus there was a problem with the missing decals.
Cotic kindly let me swap for the blue frame, which looks amazing in the flesh.

Build as it stands :

Frame: Cotic BFe, blue, large

Shifter: 9 speed Shimano XT
Cables: Goodridge clear cables
Rear Mech: Shimano XT
Chain Device: Superstar ISG05 mount

Seat Post Clamp: Cotic own brand (bit flimsy feeling when it locks, likely to replace it)

Cranks: Shimano XT
Chainring: E.Thirteen Chainguide Ring, in green 32t
Chain: XT
Cassette: XT
Pedals: DMR V12's, although white Superstar Nanotech's are on the way
Bottom Bracket: Deore/XT

Wheels are same as before, XT hubs on Mavic X717 rims, DT swiss spokes.

Rear Tyre: Larson TT 2.35

Weight: Haven't weighed it yet, but i reckon about 27/28lbs

Future plans include a new chain and cassette and possibly a Joplin.

It should look better once the white bars are on, it ties in with the green on the Reynolds stickers on the frame

mrfilo Hoping to do a bit more than bedgers on it!

    Looking good fella, great job.....

Got me in a rush now to complete mine, not for another while though I'm afraid, got too much going on at the moment.....

Really really nice, a full ride report wouldn't go a miss when you have a proper outing on it.. :)

That'll be tomorrow eve, or Friday morning!

Hoping the bars and pedals turn up tomorrow so I'm all done!

Colour scheme needs a lot of work ;)

Very nice thought. Love the colour of the frame and its nice to know at least one of those frames will be ridden even if the rest get bought by posers ;)

1st ride on it today, and apart from the deore chain apparently being made from strawberry bootlace, and requiring some links removed because they had twisted; it rides spot on for what i was expecting.
The forks loosened up nicely, and the back end skipped over the bumps/roots and felt like i had traction all the time. The bars (Deity Dirty Thirty) are going to take some getting used to, but they felt a lot nicer to use and had a better riding position that the RaceFace bars they replaced. Loving the Superstar pedals too, they aren't much bigger than the v12's they replaced, but i didn't get pain in the outside of my feet like i did with the v12's, and didn't have to shuffle my feet either.

Only annoying thing (apart from the chain) was the squeak coming from the chainguide wheel. Going to smother the axle in grease to see if it shuts it up a bit. At least the walkers could hear me coming i guess!

Just waiting on my new seatclamp, as I don't like the spongy locking feel of the current Cotic one, just doesn't feel like it's locked in position.

Going to order a new chain today aswell, maybe a kmc, not too sure, open to suggestions.

It's kept the chain on! I had to add some washers here and there, as the frame rear stays stop the guide mounting fully to the isg05 mount. But I've managed to get a perfect chain line with a bit of bodging. It's just the bottom wheel squeaking it's arse off that's a bit annoying!
  • Looks good though.. you going to keep in at 140mm?

Edit: and did you manage to weight the frame before you built it? what size is yours?

For now i think i will, it's a floaty at the front on the climbs, but i reckon i can get over that. I'm hoping to get to a few proper trail centers this year, to give it a bit of a hammering.

New seatpost clamp and chainguide fitted. The isg05 mount on the frame doesn't leave a lot of room to actually mount the superstar guide, so that ones going in the classifieds, and i fitted a mrp bb mounted guide instead.

I've been using this bike to commute, and bomb round some local routes, considering the long travel on the fork, it's really agile and behaves itself well. It's nice now just riding over roots etc that I'd normally have to hop over or go round, and knowing the bike can step it up when i fee like pushing it a bit. Overall really pleased with the bike!

Just going to replace bits as they wear out now, maybe save for some new wheels eventually.
