Are you a cat lover? Do you own a cat? This is your thread. post pictures of your little fuzzy annoyance along with any fun stories. If you haven't got any fun stories post some caturday images instead!

I've got a black moggy who's now around 15 years old. Got her back in 1997 from the RSPCA and the woman who looked after her prior didn't do a great job. The cat came with fleas, worms, ticks and cat flu; no wonder they palmed her off on us. Back then my Grand-Mother didn't like cats much but this one grew on her and I could hear my Gran talking to her at night; peaking around the door I would see the cat sat on the arm of her chair nuzzling her face.

Over the years I taught my cat some tricks, one of the best being her 'sit on my shoulder and stick her bloody huge claws into my neck'. Started to get her some treats from a company called Webbox. The treats, known as Cats Delight turn her into a slobbering, needy wreck. I give her one and she wants another, then another and so forth.

I've been invited to Canada for a few weeks in Summer and desperately would love to go but this little sod pot has never been away from me longer than a couple of days. Kind of worried she'll pine while I'm away. Cattery is an option although I'm leaning towards asking the neighbours to come in a cat sit for me. She knows them and they are, oddly, very fond of her.

Bloody cats... Someone once said that if a cat could use a tin opener they'd move out.

    Too cute softlad.
Thought I was a dog person until we got cats.

Was two but only one left now. We got them from new and if she hangs on a few weeks she'll be 19 in June. She's diabetic so needs injections twice a day. That's put paid to any long holidays because it's a big ask of a neighbour to do that - needles and live things. It puts quite a lot of people off, so thank heavens she's and ex-nurse. And she loves the cat...

Over the years we've taught her (cat, not neighbour) a few tricks too - like how to get us to make sure there's always a bit of water in the bath so she doesn't need to go downstairs in the night; how to open the back door because her back end is a bit too stiff to tackle the catflap. Until she has no problem jumping on the patio table to get the slimy rain water that is.

Can't live with them, can't live without them....

    I love Simon's cat too.

    yip..

    i like cats..

i have a 12 year old short haired tabby-tortoiseshell and white cat called nikita.

she is a girl (if the tortoiseshell bit didn't already give a hint, then her name might have!)

She waits at the front door for me coming home every night and gets upset if I do not come home at my normal time! To the point where she will not eat food that my girlfriend puts down until I come in, unless I am very late...

    bless.

    3 for me....

sadie... nick names Fail cat... Nu Nu Darth vader.
she does not like going out side at all... she sounds like darth vader when she breaths and when she eats she sounds like the hoover from the telly tubies. She sleeps in our bed between me and the wife. Shes got a big belly and is not agile and will fall off stuff.

    gypsy.... Nick names... slut cat.
Sleek black hunter that brings back 2-3 rats-mice-birds a week.. does not always bother killing them first. Got slut cat nickname as she loves the local boy cat alot and they come nicking for her and then she likes to go out for a play.

    Bob
Bob was born with 2 tails and who ever had him chopped both off and left him bleeding in a bag in a playground. :x . He loves his duck (in every way.) and will go get his duck bring it in to the same room as you to show you how much he loves his duck. When he went to the vets to get castrated the vet picked up his duck and threw the duck to one side, bob was not happy and gave the vet 3 stitches. Bob also is like a baby and will just lay in your arms all day and get tickled. All the local old ladies love him and feed him so i can be hard to get him back in.... I mean cooking up sea bass for a cat  hes gold them poor old dears wrapped round his tail stump.

All 3 have been rescue cats all are crazy and i love them all.

Not a big cat fan but had one for years who lived in my bedroom as we also had at least 3 dogs at any given time. He used to pee regularly in my wardrobe but I did like him right up until the time I got up one night and for some reason fainted on my way to the loo hitting my head on a radiator and when I came around the cat was attacking me!

Cats are horrible, nasty, untrustworthy, asthma/allergy inducing creatures.

Heh mate of mine can't stand cats. He stayed for a weekend and mine drove him nuts, the fur everywhere! He had to leave early due to his asthma kicking off.

    Stan:

We homed him recently, he's from the rescue centre. He actually plays fetch: comes up with a foam ball in his mouth, for you to throw. They picked him up as a stray, and he probably had a rough life so far as he looks a bit scrappy, bless him. He's landed on his feet now, so to speak, with us soppy fools doting over him.

We actually let him for a bit, but christ... you've got to sleep. Now Stan sleeps the night in the "meringue nest" (see pic) just outside the bedroom door... I remember cats as nocturnal, raising hell outside at night, but that seems to be outré in feline fashion.

    Hey all!

Our cat will be 2 in September, and when we got her we was told she was a 'he'!
So we called her Archie and were none the wiser until we took her to the vets to get her injections!
By then she had become used to her name and so it stuck! It doesnt seem to bother her

I was brought up with dogs and i must admit i never wanted a cat. I used to think that dogs were the ones with all the character, but now we have our little 'Archmeister G' how wrong i was and i cannot imagine not having her.

Just like Balthazar's kitty, Archie totally loves small, foam balls and will play 'fetch' for hours non stop, and when she gets fed up with this, she dribble's said ball up and down our hall way! :D

Not necessarily, but I suspect it's the 'no kids (yet/ever)' thread. I'm generalising of course.:D

Before our old lady turned into a bag of bones we used to call her Pudding Hips. Our lodger liked that name so much he applied it to his girlfriend. She didn't come round much longer after that.

Great pics guys, all of them but espec. Stan and 'laid back cat'. Ours still lifts a back leg for a tummy scratch but it's all wrinkly pink skin now. It comes to us all....

Adore them. Unfortunately, can't have one as I live in a small flat. But lots of my neighbours do have them, so I get to cuddle them - the cats, not the neighbours... :)

no more for me the joy of chasing an exocet furball round the house for 3 hours, wrapping it in a towel and putting the bloodbank on standby just because it needed to be brushed.

I've had a few over the years but copped unlucky with our last one, the most antisocial little b******** you could ever wish to meet, inherently violent and ungrateful even by cat terms. I almost wasn't sorry when she lost a battle with a fox in next doors garden.
