First tour Cherbourg - Caen

Got my first tour planed. Going to ride from Cherbourg - Caen visiting loads of sites along the way. Got ferries all booked so now just the final bits of preparation to sort. I'm doing it on a Specialized Allez Elite 2010 so need to figure out how to carry stuff. At the moment i'm thinking of using a carradice saddlebag. My friend who i',m doing it with is using a road bike with panniers.

Got 5 days to get to Caen from Cherbourg and see as much stuff as we can. Going to be credit card touring and staying in B&Bs

    The 2010 Elite has threaded eyelets for a proper standard rack.
    Any rack will fit but make sure it is compatable with the panniers you chose.
    Most quick-release panniers fit most std racks.
    The problem is getting heel clearance so look for small-med panniers with heel cutout shape or else they will be perched way back and unbalance the bike.

    Saddlebags are a way to go but you need a big one. Rack and panneirs are more versatile.
    Also consider an additional bar bag, ideal as a mapholder/handbag.
