I am looking at building a light-ish HT to accompany my full susser. I currently have a circa 2007 GT Avalanche 2.0 that I have upgraded with better wheels and forks. I am going to do away with the GT and want to transfer these good omponents (if possible) onto a better frame. I have around £200. I have been looking at the Cove Handjob XC but am not really sure how heavy/light this is. I would be open to suggestions and think I will probably end up buying 2nd hand so that I can get something decent for my dosh.
Thanks

stretch to a rock lobster at £300? Lovely bike, either the ally or the steel.

I think an on-one scandal is closer your price range, I can't remember the price off the top of my head.
Or maybe one of those kinesis maxlights from crc? I think they're pretty good value, although I can't personally comment on the ride of either that or the scandal.Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0 -
I agree, weight wise the RL, Merlin and Kinesis take some beating for the money.
The Zaskar and OnOne scandal are similar weights.
If wanting to dip below 3lbs, take a look at the Guess XC010 -

Another vote for the Lobsters.
I've spent a weekend on a 853 RL and fell in love with it, so much so I'm seriously considering a Ti RL for a spunkloadsofcash long termer.0 -
I have a Ti RL but slightly prefer the 8530

Azonic AZ7 but a bit pricey. 2.7lbs.
Scott Scale £350?
Giant XTC 2010, same sorta price.0 -

Likely to be heavier than what you have.2006 Giant XTC
2010 Giant Defy Advanced
2016 Boardman Pro 29er
2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
2017 Canondale Supersix Evo0 -
What sort of forks? Scandal is very hard to beat at this price range, weighs little and rides brilliantly.Uncompromising extremist0

I paid £125 on ebay for my almost new Commencal NUTS5. Bargain of the century IMO.0

With regards to the Rock Lobster. Team TIG at 3.25lb or 853 at 4.25lb same price??? Why?/
Also I take it I would be able to transfer my RockShox Reba SLs straight onto this frame??
Gutted about the Cove like the look and I know someone selling one for £150.0 -
One is alu, one is steel.0
