RPCC ride 22nd/23rd May

Out of sheer laziness, this is a cut and paste job from Will's thread from last week...

Another weekend, another RPCC ride... usual rules would apply:
Anyone is welcome to attend

Will average somewhere between 16-18 mph

No one gets dropped and we'll regroup at the top of hills

Tea and cake stop - probably at the top of Box Hill

I can do either Saturday or Sunday, but am likely to be a hungover mess on Sunday...

In terms of route I'd be interested in something like last weekend - 65 miles / 110 km and 4 or 5 decent climbs

What are other people's plans / preferences?

Thanks for getting this going Dave. Count me in. Can do either Saturday or Sunday and something similar to last weekend would be good

Meeting place is just inside Richmond Gate, on the right hand side as you come into the park.

Saturday sounds good. 8am would be best for me.

It's about bloody time as well...

Looking forward to it. 8am at the usual place. Has everyone packed their EPO??? I'm only going to be on the human growth hormone this w/e. Need a break from the hard stuff.

    See you at 8 tomorrow.

I have a bit of the man-flu still, was worse off this week. I don't think I will make the full route which is a shame. I might end up saying adios at the top of Coombe and head down do the dreaded Crocknorth, Ranmore and Box Hill.

I cover my tracks well. Transfusions are a piece of cake nowadays and I always down a litre of water after a 3 lap challenge attempt.

Also managed to hit 49 mph going from Coldharbour down to Dorking

A great first ride for me. I really enjoyed it and pushed myself more than I would have if I'd been doing it on my own. Loved bombing along through the roundabouts.

Excellent ride and great company as usual. I love the route we did that takes us down into Peaselake and then back up and out again. Wouldn't mind doing the Ranmore Hill add-on at some point.

Thought about doing a few laps of RP this afternoon but the sunshine, a few pints of Honeydew/Summer Lightning/Oxford Gold and a BBQ is getting the better of me.

Thanks for the ride up to Coombe on Saturday. I ended up seeing a bunch of guys from Kingston Wheelers I met a few weeks ago at the top of the mighty Crocknorth. We ended up putting the hammer down through the roundabouts so had a good run home. So what looked like to be an ITT back to Richmond Park ended up being a group ride.

Who is around this long weekend? I am up for a ride Saturday and Monday.

Roland - glad you liked the route - reckon cycling anywhere over the weekend would have been nice with the weather and all. Got a few nice routes - in terms of heading out of London the best are heading to the south coast. Also got an OK one for Cambridge - lovely once you are out of town but just a bit too much time spent trekking through suburbs to be great. Anyway if any of those take your fancy drop me a pm.

Bern - up for both Saturday and Monday. Have a mate over from Paris with his bike so he'll be the determining factor on Saturday. He's not been on the bike much this year so might not be up for a big one then. He heads back Sunday (no bank holiday in France) so can definitely do something on Monday - perhaps down to the south coast.

Guess I'll start a new thread...
