Cycle Surgery - Terrible Customer Service!

Hey,
Has anyone else had a really bad experience with Cycle Surgery!?
I ordered a pair of Mavic XM 819 rims in the Cycle Surgery sale a few weeks ago and were told after purchasing, they were out of stock. I then received a call a few weeks later saying that they did have them. They then sent the wrong rims which were heavily marked and had loads of brown tape stuck to them!!
Very frustrating!

Ask them to collect them by courier, and replace or refund.0

yeah the annoying part is that they can't replace them as they were the last two.0

Nice, your maiden Post and it's just to rant!
It's ironic that when a shop, or franchise do get things wrong people sign up to a Forum just to whinge. It happens, so I suggest you MTFU and sort it out with them, bitching about it here won't get you any closer to resolving the situation
My dealings with the CycleSurgery branch in Bristol has always been good. I've spent quite a bit of money with them both online at at the counter with no drama at all.0 -

it does my head in when people sprout $h1te like this, it's a forum, and people like to moan on forums, so why don't you mtfu and get over it....0 -
I don't know what their returns policy is like because of the 3 times Ive been into the hemel hempstead store I've yet to be served !!! The staff are always to busy texting or chatting to their mates ect so I've always walked out with nothing :evil:0

Maybe should change the name to "Needs Brain Surgery!"
When they first opened in the City, they seemed ok, even offered me stuff at large discount for a Charity ride. Then, thing changed, as did the economy, and newer staff came in.
Atmosphere changed, so I used Mike Geggus at Grips, Eastwood instead.
Calls/inquiries to them since have been ok, heplful staff, but I haven't purchased stuff tho.0 -
I`ve bought a load of stuff from them over the last few years, mainly at Spitalfields or Holborn.
I`ve always found them to be good, and have price matched when asked too.2006 Giant XTC

I called into the big superstore in Chertsey and couldn't get anyone's attention! All the staff were in groups and chatting away and really didn't seem to give a damn about the customer! No one came over to check if I needed anything so I thought I'd spend my money elsewhere.Adam.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Exactly whats happened to me 3 times now, 1st time i wanted to try/buy some bib shorts for me and the wife for a sportif i was doing, no help at all so i put it down to a new store as it had only opened 3/4 days before ! Second time i was browsing lights in the shiny stuff cabinet but try as i might no one to open it and let me look closer at them so i left again swearing i would not come back. Third time wanted saddle and cable to finish of my lads on one build but try as i may no one to help and even when i asked some one who was texting at the time all i got was "yer well we are kinda busy atm you'll just have to wait" so after i let every member of staff in the shop know how unhappy i was as well as making sure the every other possible customer knew my opinion on the stores customer service standards i left with a disappointed 11 year old vowing NEVER to return grr :twisted:0 -
Went in to the Bristol Broadmead Cycle surgery to buy a inner tube today, after 15mins of waiting for anyone to serve me, I was told
"We only have the top half" and 'we don't stock schrader valve' and 'have you tried the internet' ????
I left before I caught the stupid!0 -
I've used them twice, not great customer service both times.0

To be fair, for 6 years they've apparently given nobody on the forum anything to complain about0

Excellent whiny, almost incomprehensible first post.
Perhaps needs more love and less hippy stuff.I don't do smileys.

Well that's obvious. But is the valve at the top or bottom? Or even east or west?
I thought I had this bike thing sorted but, clearly, I still have much to learn0 -
We realised that even if you didn't!
I'm betting hippy won't be back, I won't claim I'll miss him.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
I've used there shop in flton, bristol loads (part of snow and rock) as I used to work over the road. they've always been good.
I went in the other day to see if they had any caliper bolts as I was working in the area (I changed jobs over a year ago) and the guy remembered me and gave me 2 for free! can't fault that service0 -
Starting to feel picked on in here and I've not even posted. Lol0
-
Careful what you say or you may here from their solicitors, they're like that!
Personally I wouldn't go near the place.0 -
Don't right off Cycle surgery! I went to the store in Chertsey, Surrey and their service and professionalism was excellent . I bought high end Cube carbon bike and the advice and bike fit we're spot on. There was no hard sell, just great advice and information.
The manager at this store really knows his stuff and the after care support for the bike has been excellent. My experience at this store seems to be different from many of the posts on here, so can't speak for other branches. My advice ? If you are looking for a great bike that will fit you , Cycle Surgery in Chertsey is a great place to go and was much better than the other stores I visited locally ( including Evans and Sigma).

I love the store in Broadmead in Bristol.
One of the guys who works in the mechanics bit always comes out to check if I need any help and is happy to help with advice on how to rebuild stuff
they even price match, but if your phone has run out of data, they will look the item up for you at there competitors and price match
One of the girls that works there as well really knows her stuff as well0 -
Made a rare stop at the filton one just before christmas to get some gear cables. They had free food laid out for customers and staff for christmas. I was a happy (and fat) customer because it was near the end of the day they insisted I take a few extra0

I'm always a bit suspicious when someone signs up to a forum to post about the excellent service they've received from a business.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

It certainly reads like someone from inside the business doing a bit of pumping. And given that they're clearly not an English Grad, they could easily be working in a bike shop. Or PR.All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

However if it's Ashley Judd posting I'll be happy to go an interview her about her cycling, hopefully it could be a long interview......Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
