As I was cycling home last night, I happened to notice the sign outside our local Catholic Church read "S.S. Peter & Paul RC Church"

Now, I know the Pope is alleged to have had a Nazi influenced upbringing, but I think naming churches after members of the SS is taking things a bit far

heh, that's not trolling... the idea of the pope riding a fixed is quite entertaining - with his swiss bodyguards on machines round him too...

Could be working part time as a messenger in Rome if the church is lacking funds

Its definately a single speed, loving the integrated rack look, while a little wide the broom handle bars could be the next big thing, but a quill stem, come on, that is so last century!

So what do we think the Archbishop of Canterbury rides, a 'bent perhaps     - actually, that more likely to be a catholic priest riding a newbie 'bent isn't it?

If I may add a serious note - I do have a serious issue with catholicism(I'm seriously lapsed) ,& C of E etc, it's the issue of the pomp & the circumstance . If jesus was to reappear would he recognise his own?. Also god must have hell (pun intended) of an inferiority complex when he appears to want all this praise- bowing & scraping, this applies to most of religions.Remember religions own some of the best slums in the world!

    If I may add a serious note - ...!

no, you may not - this is not appropriate behaviour.

Triviality is the order of the day

Now, insteead consider if the pope would beat the Archbishop of Canterbury in a triathalon

jesus (if allowed) would win hands down though it'd be a run (on water), ride and then run on land, BUT; his sandals really wouldn't be very good for any of the three...

One would assume that he rides a Pinarello Prince (of the Apostles).

Yep, he's worked his way up from the SS Boyscouts & is now head of the biggest corporation in history - people everywhere are bending over backwards to appease him, look: http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/inte ... 004152644/

All religion bashing aside, I quite liked the old pope - he was nice & fluffy. The new one has the cold dead eyes of a killer... or a vampire, not sure. He's probably a nice person though.
