Wegelius off in the break with Dupont (Ag2R-La Mondiale) & Cataldo (Quick Step)

Gap to peloton 1:35 coming down

70km to go

From Cycling news updates
15:25 CEST

We've received reports that a strong wind is blowing in off the sea north of Bitonto - that could split the field on the run into the finish.

Siesta time. Even the camera man is getting bored.

    Tomorrow looks more interesting.

The Giro's having a Vuelta day. Can't blame them, really.

Long old stage today isn't it? Can't blame them for going easy after the last few days.

Was that Sky in the midst of ANOTHER crash? Those guys need to work on their bike handling skills

Didn't see this one but bike handling skills can't get you out of some of the pile ups we saw early in the race. I think someone must have broken a mirror or walked under a ladder the luck they've had so far!

Seriously, did you see what caused the crash?

Sky got 5 riders at the front. Will be interesting to see how they stuff this one up...

Probably tiredness on Henderson's part - he was the one that crashed with 14km to go.

I'm more interested in how Greipel will make a mess of it.

That's a hairy finish. Impressed no one crashed with all the turns at high speed.

Nicely done by Farrar and Garmin, Millar took a massive pull in the last couple of km

Good finish in a tricky run in. Garmin did a good job but it was a bit chaotic too. Farrar looks round to see what's happening a few times, he should just go.

Sky seemed to be duplicating their efforts, at one point Barry was leading on train, then other Sky riders came up on the side.

Think he was trying to give the win to Dean, but then saw Sabatini coming and put his foot on the gas.

Yeah, I wondered if he was going to do that but just as well he didn't!

I recall a sprinter gifting his lead-out man a win in this fashion a couple of years ago :-)

Good point on helping Dean. He's a nice lad and that's within his ways.
