I came across this today: Sette flite AM, which though likely to be less refined than other models surely can't be thousands of pounds worse... look at the price!
What do you think of it? And are there any similar importers of Taiwanese frames in the UK?

I just had an email from the US.
I had made an inquiry bout shipping a frame only.
Think it was $199 US Dollars.
On top of this will be VAT, Import tax etc.
Makes some "bargains" not so...0 -
true, so I'm interested to see some similar knock off imports distributed in the UK rather than ones from the US. I'm not keen on buying form the Far East as it runs down European companies but... my friend is on a tight budget and I'm a bargain hunter.0

What is it copying?0

Looks like a standard Taiwan frame to me.
Look at some of the Shop brands out there they are just the same."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Take a lok at the 800 English Pounds KHS. Loooks similar, 4in travel etc.
Got great reviews and if it snaps, UK importer should sort it.
I've had excellent dealings with KHS over the years. Nice people...0 -
Maybe copy isn't the right word, but it certainly follows a tried and tested path, by the likes of Kona and trek, which might make it perform better than it's price point suggests. Yes the material isn't as manipulated as the latest designs but it can't be any worse than a frame that's a few years old.
I'm hunting for a friend who is after this kind of bike. He's been looking second hand to maximise his cash.
By shop brands Nick, can you refer to anyone?0 -
any and many. Handsome Dog. Merlin. you know the frames that you can only get from one shop, in fact Brand X is like this as well.
anyone with a few dollars can pick a frame and design some logos and there you have a new brand.
Sette is a brand owned by an importer in the US from having a quick look about."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

yeah is budget.... it's umm..... about £250 for a full suss frame. I've watched some Kona Coilers go for just over this price on Ebay that I bidded on. Still no joy on finding a suitable Eastern import. Thanks for the links to CRC.0
