i do an extended WHW every year with old friends, normally walking, but cycled it a couple of times (3 days normally).
that ride down into Kinlochleven is a hell of a lot better on a bike than on foot!
This year, we did Kingshouse, climbed the tricky route up Beauchille etive mor, all the way along the ridge, back down, up devils staircase, then down into Kinlochleven. Monster day!! I was broken by the end of it. Not really possible on the bike mind you!
Cracking photos mate!0 -
Looks awesome mate, I'd love to try out the devils stair case, often pass it when going up to Glen Coe or Nevis skiing. Out of interest how long did it take your group from start to finish? B&B's along the way with someone taking the luggage in the van yeah?0

the ride from the top of the staircase into kinlochleven is insane....gravel 2 wheel drifting was order of the day 8) think i clocked 40+mph at one point!
kinlochleven looks like a filmset town also!0 -
like i said i only did the last day which was 30 miles
the whole group of 10 started on thursday finishing at 4pm ish on saturday
8 hour shifts on the bike all 3 days
with a support guy in the van carrying all the stuff and trailoring the bikes home
first night spent in wigwams in inverarnan iirc, 2nd night in bridge of orchy and 4 of us staying a further night in fort william partying0 -
Sounds like an awesome weekend What were your mates riding I see a hardtail and FS in the rack there, any idea how the hardtails coped?0

Would that qualify as a monstercross bike?Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0

it's a beauty! Not sure I'd get one (well, not until I really ran out of things to build), but it looks gorgeous.Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0

Awesome scenery - wish I wasn't so damn far from stuff like that !"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0
