paddy,
1) This ride doesn't use the A5 Shrewsbury to Menai...that's a different event...loverly road that. This event ( Bryan Chapman Memorial 600km ) goes Chepstow-Builth-Dolgellau-Menai-Dolgellau-Newtown-Chepstow. Route map here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Au ... 2004-route
2) There is a sleep stop at the YHA near Dolgellau and I had a pleasant 3 hours in a bunk0 -

Good grief man. That's a lap of a country!Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0

The times are not published as it isn't a race
But if you promise to keep it a secret, my time was just under 36 hours including all stops
The organiser says that there were 96 successful finishers0 -

Mike, it must be just like commuting then....quicker by bike0 -
Scheisse the bed, that's mental.
And I thought I had an excuse for not cycle commuting today after a measly 127 Brecon Beacon miles over the weekend.
Chapeau to you, sir.0 -
Makes my legs stiff just thinking about it...
Chapeau indeed!0 -
there appears to be a couple of people riding single speed, maybe one fixed. Mental..0

I actually rode for some bits of the ride with 4 people who did the ride on fixed
Deano was on a 64"
Phil on 70"
Mr rusty bike from Cardiff dunno what ratio
and Mr very shiney red bike was on 72"
I was on a 50/34 compact with a campag alpine 13-29 cassette0 -
fair play and great effort
