    There are lots of routes on the southern flanks of Exmoor if you head a bit north from Tiverton. Grab the OS Exmoor Map and get exploring. We used to drive a lot of them before they were wiped out :( several are now a bit overgrown but OK on a bike.

    Great descent down into Bury from the southish, more proper DH than XC though. Hawkridge near Dulverton is a good long run.
