Wonder how many people have had it since bigbenj... (STILL cannot believe he sold it [the heathen] .. too small or too big - that was a keeper)

One-off as it was 'famously' cherry-picked and/compinents hand-picked by Doddy etc... and the frames were in a Ltd run..... the featurette article on it etc and you won it more importantly, I always end up winning booze at raffles.. nowt that fancy!!!

Anyway, twas your ride, was up to you what you *did* with it.

I just stated the I can't believe you did ;)

Just checking all the photos out, stunning!!!!
  • Honestly.. if it rode as well as it looks i'd of never sold it :(
But it didn't so I did lol.

Damn.. pity those photo's weren't up two weeks back, I coulda used them in the "Macro Photo Game" that was on the go.

Lovely bike though, that one is mint. As for the purple alloy, well that reminds me of radio controlled truck hop up parts.
They should have left them in polished natural alloy with a clearcoat to protect them from the elements.

The reason for the purple ano parts was a nod to the purple anodised parts craze of 20 odd years ago, same with the yellow forks, a nod to the Judy (IIRC) forks of the time

Dunno, it has pretty decent spec and it looks in mint condition, plus you have the history behind and he's advertising it on retrobike. At least it isn't just rusting away somewhere. Personally I think Ben did right in selling it complete. It would have been a bit wrong to break it up for parts.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

Totally agree... its nice to see it being used rather than just hanging on my wall!
