Frame Size advice????

I am in the market for a new Cannondale CAAD 9 - I have test ridden a size 56cm and a size 58cm and to be honest I have driven myself mad I can't decide which to go for. Slightly larger or slightly smaller - There really is nothing in it. This sounds daft but they both seem ok. The 58 I have to reach the bars a bit more and not so much seat post. The 56 is a bit more compact on the reach and a bit more seatpost.
Advice appreciated please

    The general rule of thumb is to go for the smaller. It will be a bit lighter and a bit stiffer.
