So are you a shower in the morning or before you go to bed person. Which is best, only one way to find out...

(and I aplogise in advance if I haven't included you particular showering time or you have a bath instead...)

Indeed, both. Once at the start of the day then again after training or when getting changed after work...

I have a shower in the night before I go to sleep. Every night. I'd not have a shower before going on a bike ride tho, that's just a waste of water and shower gel.

    After cycling home from work.

The mornings are meant for sleeping.

I don't have a shower at work so morning shower is a must.

Also, it helps convince my brain it's time to power up - without it I'm a zombie for the first 4-5 miles :)

I don't start work till the afternoon and so I tend to shower on a morning and then again after I've been out on the bike prior to heading off to work. In the heat of sumer - if we have one this year - that becomes 3 showers (or sometimes 4) a day.

How can anyone get up and dress, without showering/bathing, unless training/commuting etc!!?

Shower when I get to work, shower after work at work and only when I get home if I've got really stinky/dirty or sweaty. And after being out at the weekends. Only splash water on my face when first up and brush teeth, havent had a bath in ages!

In the morning and after a bike ride. I like a nice hot bath in the evening.

Do you have a few candles around the bath and maybe some nice bubble bath :D

Really? So, you lie in bed for 8 hours (sorry, forgot you're a student so 12+) sweating, then put your clothes straight on to go to college all day. Does anyone sit next to you?

Do you lie with someone, having been up and about all day, presumably doing more odour creating activites than sleeping? Having not showered for over 12hrs?

    Cuts both ways.

I can't sleep if I haven't had a shower beforehand, and it keeps the sheets cleaner. Nothing worse than sleeping in your own filth.

Also, apparantly, the process of your body's inner core cooling makes you sleepy - so a hot shower before bed helps you get to sleep quicker.

Not with me it doesn't. I shower at night and in the morning. TBH I assumed most people did.

Yeah never shower straight out of bed, even if I'm not cycling. Nobody gets that close to me till i put on my dirty old overalls. Same for the weekend, don't think i stink that much in the mornings!

God, some of you must be right smelly! I couldn't contemplate not having a shower after cycling to work, even in the depths of winter I sweat a fair amount on the way in. I also cycle home and sweat again and if I go to the gym at lunchtime I shower then too. So generally I have 2 showers per day and sometimes 3....

In my experience, people who stink think they don't stink. It's often hard to smell your own smell. I used to work with a guy who blatantly rolled out of bed stuck his clothes on and wandered into work... He always had this slightly unpleasant unwashed, sweaty bed smell about him, at least in the morning. I don't think anyone ever said anything to him about it, but everyone else knew about it...

Steady on ! I shower in the morning and then maybe if I'm going out in the evening or if I've been doing something physical like a bike ride. I wouldn't routinely shower at night and I wouldn't say I'm sleeping in my own filth either.

Are people these days a little too hysterical about these things - I mean 60 years ago people made do with a quick wash and then a visit to the public baths once a week. Now it's routine to shower twice a day and smother yourself in antiperspirant and deoderant.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

....And a few hundred years earlier it was perfectly acceptable to bath once a year and people had to walk around with small bags of dried flowers to ease the stench. It's called progress and increased awareness of personal hygiene!
