Betws y Coed: The Marin and Penmacho trails.
Dolgellau: Coed y Brenin, Cadair Idris, plus stuff above Barmouth.
Lanberis: Snowdon, Telegraph Valley, Llanberis quarry ( Bus Stop area ).
Anglesey: Holyhead Mountain, Newborough Forest. Penmon near Puffin Island.
NOTE: Restrictions on Snowdon during the Summer.

The easiest option for you would be to get the train to Llandudno Junction then catch the connection to Betws. You could then do either the Marin or Penmachno.
The journey should take about 2 1/2 hours including the 20 min wait at Llandudno junction for the connecting train. The first train leaves Manchester at around 8.00am and will get you to Betws by about 11.00.There are return trains that leave Betws at about 6pm and another around 8pm.
Check there's no rail maintenance going on, the Betws line is prone to flooding.
