Not a patch on Trekheads effort, but heres my steed:

IMG_0169.JPG

Upgraded Shimano XT brakes and shifters, SRAM PG991 Cassette in red and Ritchey WCS Stem, Bars and Seatpost. Plus a gold hope skewer on the front, hoping to somehow remove the rear hope skewer end and replace the bontrager one.

    Very nice.
Really like these in black. Might have to get a black bike - Trek of course.
Not sure if you`ll be able to get the end off the Hope skewer, I know I couldn`t with the Crank Bros one. In the end I cut and welded it to cope with the extra width on back end of these.

I've removed the bonty lever without much trouble, just want to remove the hope lever from its skewer now. Its threaded but held on with locktite or a poxy of some sort. Might need a knock with a rubber mallet to force it loose.

Try heating it first, it often breaks the loctite bonds if that is infact whats holding it

I tried the same thing and for the life of me that mutha fudger would not budge. I bought a pair of red ones and in the end I just sold them in the classifieds section (no way was I gonna run odd skewers :P ).

    Excellent idea.

And yes, I think all EX owners are tarts!

I do feel I should have the same skewers each side so im going to replace it if it kills me!

I admit, even though mine is the old banger of this topic, i had to have matching Hope skewers in black - however mine were used and therefore scuffed! :D

drop an e-mail to 2pure. They have a load of CB wheels they are selling cheap. Aparently they have been used once for a demo / race and they are champagne colour.

No, sorry I should have explained.
2Pure are Crank Brothers official UK distributor.

Finally got the rear skewer lever on. I managed to remove it from the Hope skewer by using a vice and a drill in reverse. ;)

    Matching skewers now! Woo!
