OT odd traffic lights

One of the lads I take out likes traffic lights, these ones.

he really loves these, as they are traffic lights you have to activate by pressing the button.
any one londonish seen some odd ones on their travels?

You need to look around to get the full picture. There's a pedestrian bridge over that road, which is the only way to cross. So what's the touch-enabled traffic light doing?0 -

I drive through there twice a week most weeks, and have done for about 2 and a half years. I can remember that light being red once in that time... I remember having no idea why it was there! Still don't!0

it's for traffic turning on to the north circular, as it's a pig getting up to speed.0 -

Have a look at this link. I didn't know what the button was for (not sure I'd even noticed it at first) and had regularly started to use the road as the cycle lane was always red. Most cyclists clearly don't know how it works as they wait a bit and then go through on red, very dangerous I think as the traffic can turn right across you as Maple Street is one way.0
