Bar Tape

Trying to find some white bar tape with red specs on it. Quite specific I know but think it'll look great on the bike. have googled and googled but with no joy. Any ideas ?

Yeah its a bit busy and a little novelty. Maybe a white bar tape with a red edge if anyone knows where I can get them then ?

Failing that I'm sticking to plain white.

Which is Fiziks Dual Tape,Think CRC and ebay have it.

The Dual tape looks awful unless you get black/grey, and even then the looks are only "acceptable".

I read this tip recently, cover your bars with red electrical tape and then use Fizik bar tape (which is good tape anyway) the red electrical tape will show through the holes in the Fizik tape.

Not sure whose idea it was, but its a great idea!

Herusix, thanks for the pic, might again be OK but with reddragon saying it looks bad itms made me think twice.

mjgoodhand - Now I'm liking this idea !!! Seems like it'll tick all the boxes - not happy about wrapping insulation tape around my carbon bars but once I've got over that I'm sure its going to look how I want. Thanks !

The dual Fizik tape is very good. Nicely padded.

As said before - Fizik Dual will forever look awful. It just looks messy and 'novelty'.

I keep seeing Prologo tape on Katusha Team bikes which is white with 'prologo' embossed in red. Looks ok to me and fits the bill. Can't seem to find it for sale anywhere.



However the Sky version of Prologo tape is just as awful as Fizik Dual. Also there is the possibility of the Katusha Prologo tape looking horrific is done badly.

BTW it's called 'Prologo Pro Touch' bar tape.

Personally I like the look of both the Fizik Dual and the Prologo stuff,however I have seen neither in the flesh ,which is the true test and secondly your bar wrapping technique would have to be spot on otherwise it would end up looking like a dogs d*ck.

You'd think that someone would do TdF KOM bar tape, but a quick google suggests maybe not.

How about sticking with white but using red electrical tape to fix the ends and red bar plugs?

Sounds good. I'll go with that and run some of the red under the tape also. Will stick a pic on this thread when done. Watch this space.......

Yea, im tempted to get this done on mine, with red or yellow, should look bloody good!

Don't want to dampen your spirits but the holes in the Fizik tape aren't large enough to let a colour show through. I tried that idea, didn't work, so just went with the plain white. Nice tape though, although a bit thin.
