I've managed to hide from it up to now but it's finally got me, 3-4 days off the bike.

I tell ya, my flat mates will bang on about me being OTT and got "manflu", the symptoms are nothing as bad as the flu I had for a week, but it don't half make me feel miserable.

Probably just what I needed however as I've not being taking more than 1 day off at a time from cycling, so I should see some improved fitness and have 4 days to clean my dirty bikes and do some college work.

Got no medicine and I ain't going out to get any but there don't seem to be anything that really helps a cold, just have to sit it out :(

Anyone else got it? Apparently it's going round.

I hope when it's gone the ****** don't come back.

Maybe I just got the end of this cold.

Woke up today and almost normal, last night had awful aches, but the confusing thing about illness is, they tend to feel better for me in the days, but when it comes to getting night time the illness kicks in again and is hell.

Would you cycle with a cold?

    If so you're stupid.

I went to the docs on Friday.
I had the flu about four weeks ago, but I couldn't get shut of the cough.

The upshot is I've got a secondary infection - of the sinus'. The doc's given me some antibiotics and when I asked him if I should stay off the bike he said no, carry on as usual just don't go mad doing any time trials.
The docs a runner so he was pretty understanding, in fact we had quite a chat about the fred whitton.

Well I've being reading some stuff not from the internets and it talks about how colds can cause problems when exercising and how if the HR is 5bpm above normal that is also not a good sign.

Also an article on how there was some big thing about this in Sweden when some runners on more than one occasion appeared to die, some in England too, when they where perfectly fit and healthy, turned out they had a virus.

Well, either I've got the same one, or there's two of the bu66ers going around !!
Combine that with all the pollen from the oil seed rape, and I'm feeling really sh1t !!!
    :(

I'm going to blame it on Iceland and complain to Wiggle, expecting a full refund !!!

Ibuprofen or beechams flu plus are doing a wonder for me, until the effects of those tablets ware off I loose almost every sign of this cold. I need to cycle to college tomoz, hopefully there will be some granny going down there to pace me.

I thought that they had a bad attack of EPO. or was that cross country skiers?
Anyway don't cycle with a cold, it only lasts longer. Take Vitamin C and zinc tablets. Always helps me.

I'm at that point now where I have also just recovered from an 8 day illness, sinus, head cold, bad throat, coughing etc.

I'm feeling a lot better but still not 100% so not sure exactly what to do, whether to ride or take it easy.
I'm leaning towards taking it easy, will just have to go down the LBS and buy a new road bike to make me feel better :)
