My (numb) Left Foot

Hi all,
I am new to the forum and to road bikes and hope someone can help me with my problem!
I have recently got a new road bike, fitted with shimano R540 clipless pedals.
I have found that after about 30 mins my left foot starts to go numb and just gets worse over the course of a ride.
I have tried adjusting my cleats and the tightness of my shoes (specialized bg sport) to no effect.
My right foot has never had a problem.
This is spoiling my new found love of road biking.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

if you've done the cleats, as in tried many angles, and tried changing the tightness of the shoes and you're sure you've covered all permutations it maybe time for a visit to the doctors.
